A WHIRLWIND OF EVENTS

So much is happening so fast.
Words cannot describe how much I love where I am in life, doing what I am, and accomplishing the things I'm working on. But I cannot wait for the future...what it holds...and everything I will be faced with. Sometimes the present is scary. Sometimes the future is even more scary. But I know that whatever happens and whatever God brings me will always be his plan. And his plan is always the best plan.

It's been 11 days since I've seen Eric, but seems longer. His shoulder surgery was yesterday morning...a surgery that is supposed to be pretty simple and last less than an hour. Well, the anesthesiologist gave Eric the wrong anesthetic which caused his heart to go into supraventricular tachycardia. It was so painful it woke him out of the anesthetics. After seeing a heart doctor today, he scheduled a second surgery, this time on his heart. It's frightening that a simple bone-spur surgery on a shoulder can turn into a life-threatening issue. He's doing ok currently, dealing with a lot of pain and soreness, but he is such a trooper. I'm really proud of his courage and optimism...which are extremely comforting to his frightened and worried wife. We are putting our faith in God and I know together we will see this through.

While Eric's going through all of this, I'm in Washington - basically stranded - though if it gets worse, I'm flying to Vegas. Aside from the worries of the past 24 hours, my trip here has been rewarding. It's been over a year since I was home! I have missed the sibling interactions with my brothers, and even more, going to their various events and cheering them on. I've been able to spoil them with ice cream, or give them a listening ear when they've had a rough day at school. Words could never express how much I love my brothers. It's so incredible being here and finally getting some one-on-one time with each of them. Here's a few pictures of what we've been up to:

Brigham and his tennis partner at their last match! Brigham is three years younger then this kid, but is so tall! Looks like he got all the tall genes in the family...

Hiking Badger Mountain with Levi and Snickers
This is the first time EVER being home without Garrett, it's so weird....but we are looking forward to his call on Mother's Day!

Levi is obsessed with Batman these days! Here's my attempt at bat pancakes...

Church never gets boring sitting with these guys...

Mom's piano finally arrived! Her lifelong dream is finally accomplished! Compliments to all her saving and hard work to get this!
I got to watch Talmage run his last meet of the year! He won all 4 of his events and broke the school record with his 4-1 team! So proud of you Tal!

Garrett built this bench for my mom as a going away present before the mission...but never got it painted. Brigham and I finally got around to painting it...and got some good tans at the same time!

Today was Levi's salmon summit! All the schools here raise salmon eggs until they hatch and then after so many weeks let them go in the river to migrate. It was fun to spend the day with him and his class at the park!
